What are your thoughts on this?

Why is it ok that people die from the flu in huge numbers, but not ok if people die from COVID? Do you know anyone who has died from the flu? Do you know anyone who has died from COVID? Maybe you do. Let’s be honest, most people don’t even know anyone in their circle of friends or immediate family who have even been diagnosed with COVID. (I said most so don’t feel it necessary to tell us all your second cousin on your step-dad’s side is positive for Rona.) I am not saying COVID is a hoax. It is very real. I work at a factory with thousands of employees, and I am currently on track to return to police work soon. I respect that I can be stricken with COVID and that I can possibly get very sick from it. I will take necessary precautions to avoid it, but the fact is your elderly “at risk” family member is just as “at risk” for the flu as they are from COVID. If you research how to avoid COVID and how to avoid the flu, they are same. We weren’t sheltering in place for the flu, and if you think the COVID will be gone if we shelter in place longer, wouldn’t the flu also be gone?
